Heads the color of old blood nod slowly together, agreeing in some ancient language only the earthworms understand. They wave slowly as rainwater arches across each limb into the aquifer at their feet, searching for mouths to nourish.

A vibrant burgundy-red annual reaching up to 6 feet, this heirloom variety amaranth has been traditionally used to make a bright pink dye used by Hopi tribes to color breads. We’ve used it to dye cotton and pizza dough! Young leaves can be eaten like spinach and its gluten-free seed grains can be cooked similarly to quinoa or popped like corn and contain many nutrients.

Each packet contains 1 gram (approx. 1,400) Hopi Red Dye Amaranth seeds.
