Lesser Burdock Seeds
Another day, another seed pod clinging to my hair. Who created you? Clearly it was someone with a sense of humor. Someone with large earlobes and shiny teeth. Someone who prefers pine sap to water and mud to air. A marsh guppy with a taste for old carrots. Hairless and ground-dwelling but also incredibly wise with a deep well of mothering instincts and emotional insight.
Burdock, the beast that gives back. This heirloom biennial creature develops a long taproot that soaks up nutrients from deep in the soil, creating an incredible medicinal and nutrient-rich resource. Roots harvested in the fall of its first year are full of Inulin, an important pre-biotic that helps feed the probiotic biome in the gut. It has been linked to skin health, blood sugar regulation, digestive health and more. It’s second year brings thistle-like pinkish-lavender flowers that turn to giant burrs filled with seeds.
Each packet contains 50 Lesser Burdock seeds.
